EdgeEX — Using Answer Explanations and Show Me videos in the Student Learning Experience

In EdgeEX math courses, all questions in assignments and assessments feature Feedback and Answer Explanations to support students who answer questions incorrectly. For selected questions in math assignments, Show Me videos are also available to model how to solve a specific problem. Both Answer Explanations and Show Me videos support struggling students and provides point-of-use intervention and re-teaching.

 Notes

  • All questions in math course assignments and assessments have Answer Explanations available. Select questions in assignments have Show Me videos available.
  • You can view Answer Explanations and Show Me videos while reviewing work in the Educator Experience. For more information, reference EdgeEX — Viewing work in the student's Grades tab.

When working through the questions in an assignment, students will experience the following if Answer Explanations and Show Me videos are available for the question:

Student selects correct answer The Feedback lightbulb at the top of the page turns green. If an Answer Explanation or Show Me video is available, the student can can view them if desired. Student-GreenFeedback.png
Student selects incorrect answer on first attempt The Feedback panel displays on the right side of the screen. The student can read the feedback and then click Try Again to submit a different answer. Feedback.png
Student selects incorrect answer on second attempt

If a Show Me video is available for this question, it displays automatically. The student will watch the short video before moving on in the activity.

If no Show Me video is available, the Answer Explanation panel displays on right side of screen. The student can read the Answer Explanation before moving on in the activity.
