Grading a World Language Speaking Assignment

Use this page to learn how to grade a speaking assignment in the World Language LMS course.

  1. On the main menu, type the student's name in the search bar.

  2. Click the student's name once it appears below the search box.

  3. The Selected Student icon displays. Hover over the icon to view the tab.

  4. Under the Selected Student tab, click View Courses.

  5. Select the radio button next to the course.

  6. Click Grades.

  7. Find the speaking assignment. Expand the unit and lesson of the speaking assignment needing grading. Then, click the assignment that contains Speaking

  8. Click the attempt.

  9. Click the Play icon to hear the student's response.

  10. Leave a written and/or audio comment, if desired. Then click Update Comments

     Note

    You can also leave written feedback that includes special, foreign language characters by using the ALT codes or by using the copy/paste method. Reference Using special characters in World Language Course activities for more information.

  11. To score, click out of this window to return to the main page. 
  12. Click Change Score

  13. Enter New Score and Reason

     Note

    The system reads the number placed in the score box as a percentage. If the student receives a 23/25 (92%), then put 92 in the New Score box. 

  14. Click Submit
