EdgeEX — Updating a section

 Permission

To update a section, you must have one of the following permissions:

  • EdgeEX Edit Course Information and Options for all Courses and Sections
    or
  • EdgeEX Edit Course Information and Options for Assigned Section

Use this article to update a section of an EdgeEX course.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Start and Target Dates be changed?
Yes. Note that due dates and key metrics (Target Progress, Pacing, Actual Grade) may take up to 24 hours to recalculate after Start or Target Dates are changed.

Accessing the section

Do one of the following:

Updating a section from the Course Hub

  1. Access the Course Hub.
  2. On the left navigation, click Sections.

  3. From the list that displays, locate the applicable section and click the Edit icon.

  4. Continue to Editing and saving the section below.

Updating a section from the Section Hub

  1. On the Manage Courses page, locate the course section and click the name of the section to open it.
  2. On the center panel, under the title of the course, click the Edit icon.

Editing and saving the section

  1. On the flyout that displays from the right, update the applicable field:

    Field Action
    Section Name Update the name of the section.
    Grade Level From the drop-down menu, select the applicable grade Level for your section. 

     Notes

    • When creating a section, the Grade Level defaults to the lowest Grade Level available for that course.
    • Depending on the course, Grades 3–13 are available, with 13 representing adult learners.
    • You can only select one grade level for a section.
    Primary Teacher From the drop-down menu, select a primary teacher. The primary teacher is the Teacher of Record.
    Additional Teachers From the drop-down menu, select any additional teachers who need access to the section.
    Start Date and Target Date

    Update the dates.

     Note

    You currently cannot update the term type.

  2. Click Update Section.

  3. Do one of the following:
    If you... Then...
    Did not edit the Start or Target Dates as part of your changes

    A message displays indicating that the section information was updated. The process is complete.

    Edited the Start or Target Dates as part of your changes

    A confirmation page displays. Select the applicable option and click Apply Changes

    Then, a message displays indicating that the section information was updated. The process is complete.
