Use this article to learn about unarchiving a course from the District Catalog.
You can restore an archived course from the relevant course card in the District Catalog. For example, an archived Algebra I IC version can be accessed through the Algebra I course card and restored from that version.
When you unarchive a course:
- The course is restored to the District Catalog.
- It returns exactly as it existed at the moment it was archived.
- Prior content customizations remain.
- Prior course options remain.
- The course does not automatically return to School Catalogs.
Note
Unarchive is not a reset: Archiving and unarchiving does not remove customizations or restore default course options. After restoration, the district separately decides which School Catalogs should receive the course.

Does unarchive automatically restore the course to schools?
No. The course returns to the District Catalog. The district chooses which School Catalogs should receive it afterward.
Does unarchiving remove customizations?
No. It restores the course to the same state that existed when the course was archived.
Unarchiving a course
- Locate the course you want to unarchive in the District Catalog.
- At the top-right of the course card, click Version Options, then click Unarchive Versions.
- Select the versions you want to unarchive, then click Next.
- Review your selections, then click Unarchive.
- On the success message that displays, click Done.
