Navigating the Course Structure
You have the option to view the Gradebook at various levels. Within each level, use the arrow keys to navigate back and forth, or the drop-down option to jump to a specific place in the course.
- Activities: The default view that displays data for all of the activities in the selected lesson. This view will be used most frequently by educators to monitor student progress throughout the lessons.
- Quiz Scores: Displays all the lessons in the selected unit or topic, and the lesson quiz scores for each student. This view is helpful for monitoring student progress through a unit, and to identify lesson that might be particularly challenging for your students.
- Test Scores: Displays all units or topics in the course corresponding test scores for each student. This view provides insight into student mastery for the higher-stakes assessments, the unit tests. You can also filter the unit to see the cumulative exam scores at this level.
Student Progress and Pacing
The progress bars in the Gradebook tell you whether a student is making adequate progress as compared to the student’s target pace. Target pace is determined using the Start Date, Target Date, and the District Calendar, excluding any days the students are not expected to work as indicated on the District Calendar.
Image | Description |
---|---|
Progress Bar | A blue progress bar indicates that the student is on track. Red indicates that the student is 3% or more behind target progress. Green indicates that the student is 3% or more ahead of target progress. |
Vertical Line | The vertical line is the target progress indicator. |
Percent | The student's overall progress metric is expressed as a percent. |
If no target date is set for a student’s course, no vertical line will appear, and progress will always appear in blue. To set target dates for enrollments, visit the Manage Enrollments page or edit the student’s Course Options. District administrators can set the district calendar and exclude days the students aren’t expected to work so the target pacing is accurate.
Clicking a student’s progress bar will update the Gradebook to display that student’s current unit and lesson for all students.

Tips and Troubleshooting
Courses with more than 999 enrollments will not appear in the Gradebook drop-down list. To use the Gradebook, enroll students in smaller sections, with one copy of the course for each teacher.
To narrow it down by user groups, make sure the course is selected. If students are enrolled in the selected course and are listed in user groups, those user groups will appear in the Group(s) drop-down.
To view more lesson activities on the Gradebook screen without having to scroll, click the Expand button at the top-right next to the gear icon to toggle full screen viewing mode.
To view a specific student's current activity, click the Overall Progress bar for that student.
Limitations of the Gradebook
The Gradebook cannot be exported.
It is not possible to remove pretesting bypasses. If you want a student to be required to do an activity, you must customize the individual student's course, add the duplicated lesson into the course, and then turn off any activities that aren't required.
