Use the steps on this page to allow a student to continue in a course by:
Advancing a student using highest score
The Use Student's Highest Attempt Score feature allows the educator to supply a score for the current activity and allows the student to continue in the course, even if the score does not meet the typical passing threshold.
Notes
- The option to use the highest score is only available on assessments (quizzes, tests, and exams).
- This option is similar to the Pass with Score option in heritage Imagine Edgenuity courses.
- Access the Manage Score flyout on the Grades tab.
- On the Manage Score flyout, select the Use Student's Highest Attempt Score radio button and add a comment if desired.
Note
The Comment field has a 25,000-word character limit, including spaces.
- Click Submit.
- If you want to change the score or update the comment, click Edit and make the necessary changes to the grade or comment.
- To save and close, click the X at the top of the flyout or click Cancel.
Scoring an activity that has not been submitted
Note
Adding a score to an activity a student has not submitted may be an appropriate action under circumstances such as:
- Student starts a course mid-semester and the teacher wants to give credit for content that has been completed outside of the course.
- Student has completed the work offline.
- Student has been given an alternate assessment.
- Student has missed the opportunity to complete the activity and needs to be given a zero.
- Access the Manage Score flyout on the Grades tab.
- On the Manage Score flyout, enter a score and add a comment, if desired.
Notes
- In the Enter new score field, you can enter a decimal to the tenths place or a fraction that will convert to a percentage.
- The Comment field has a 25,000-word character limit, including spaces.
- Click Submit.

You can hover over the asterisk next to the Score to view information about who scored the assignment and when.
- If you want to change the score or update the comment, click Edit and make the necessary changes to the grade or comment.
- To save and close, click the X at the top of the flyout or click Cancel.
What you will see
In the Educator Experience, on the activity, a green arrow icon displays next to the score. Hover over the icon to view a tooltip with information about who advanced the activity with a score and when it was advanced with score.
On the student's Course Map, the activity shows as scored and marked complete by a teacher with a purple asterisk:
