Family Portal — Understanding the EdgeEX Attendance Log

This report allows you to see specific times when your student was logged in and working on EdgeEX coursework. You can use this view to determine if your student is spending sufficient time and whether that time is being used wisely.

Reviewing the report

  1. Adjust the dates, if desired, and click Apply.

     Note

    The report defaults to show a single week; however, the date range can be expanded to include more than one week. When this is done, the sessions can be collapsed by day and by week, allowing for easy weekly totals.

    1SessionShows the date.
    2Total Session Time

    Shows weekly totals and daily totals.

    • Weekly Totals: Shows the total session time and activities completed for the selected dates.
    • Daily Totals: Displays session time and activities completed for each active day.
    3TimeDisplays weekly and daily time spent. Also breaks down the time spent in Activity, Review, and Idle status.
    4Activities CompletedDisplays the total number of activities completed for the week or day. Activities Completed includes all activities, not just assessments.
    5Section titleShows the section the the student spent time in. 
    6Activity TimeShows the time students spend working on activities that are not yet complete. It combines with review time to represent Active Time on the Attendance Log.
    7Review TimeShows the time a student spent reviewing activities that are already complete to reinforce their learning.
    8Idle TimeShows how much time a student is spending outside of activities (for example, on the Course Map, Progress Overview, Syllabus, or other page specific to the enrollment but not an activity).
