Frequently asked questions

I've been using the heritage Imagine Edgenuity Attendance Log. How is this one different?

I've been using the EdgeEX Attendance Log. How is this one different?

Which EdgeEX students can I view on the Attendance Log?

You will only see students enrolled in sections in the school you are currently in (the school showing in the top-right corner).

  • If you have the See All Courses and All Students permission, you will see all students enrolled in EdgeEX sections belonging to the school you are in. If you have access to multiple schools, reference Switching schools to change the school.
  • If you do not have the See All Courses and All Students permission, you will only see students enrolled in your own sections (that is, sections that you are assigned to as a primary or additional teacher) in the school you are currently in.
Why are the students showing on the Report Builder - Students report different from the students displaying on the Attendance Log?

Students on the Report Builder - Students report are not the same as the students shown on the Attendance Log because the Report Builder - Students report:

  • Only displays students with enrollments (of any status: active, complete, and disabled).
  • Does not show students with secondary access to the chosen Home School.

Reviewing the Attendance Log

The following data displays:

Data Description
Daily data

For each day of the week, the Attendance Log displays:

  • Total time logged in
  • Total number of assessments submitted

If a student doesn’t log in on a given day, their total shows as 0:00:00.

When a student logs in and out multiple times, all session durations are combined.
For example, if a student works for 1 hour 10 minutes in the morning and another 1 hour 15 minutes later that day, the daily total shows 2 hours 25 minutes.

To see a more detailed breakdown, click a student’s name to open their Session Log, which displays login times and activity durations for each session.

Assessments submitted

When students submit assessments (quizzes, tests, or exams), you’ll see the indicators Q, T, or E, along with the total number submitted that day.

For example, if a student submits one quiz in the morning and two more later that day, the log shows Q – 3.
These assessment totals count submissions, not completed or scored assessments.
If a student retakes a quiz they previously failed, both submissions count, so the log would display Q – 2 for the day.
