Progress report overview

 Note

The information in this article applies to both heritage Imagine Edgenuity and EdgeEX courses.

 Permission

To view all of a student's courses on the progress report, you must have the See All Courses and All Students permission. Otherwise, you will only see the courses to which you are assigned as a primary or additional teacher. To check your permissions, reference Checking your educator permissions.

The progress report provides a snapshot of the student’s progress and achievement in all of a student's active courses. It shows percentage completion, activity scores, activity count (total and completed), and the weighting and overall scores by activity type.

Progress reports can be accessed or printed at any time for students and teachers. These reports can be emailed directly to parents or guardians, or they can be set up with access to the Family Portal to view them at any time. As students submit assignments, they receive immediate feedback and the progress report is updated in the live system. Since data is recorded and updated in real-time, students can monitor their progress and will know exactly where they stand in relation to completing the course on time.

Progress reports make it easy to identify whether students are on track to complete courses within the allotted timeframe and determine the grade they have earned for submitted work (overall grade), the grade if they were to leave the class without doing any more work, and receive zeros for the incomplete work (relative grade) or the grade in relation to the percentage of coursework completed vs. the percentage of coursework that should have been completed (actual grade).

The result is that, for example, if Assignments are weighted at 10% and Short Writing activities are weighted at 5%, the Assignments weight on the Progress report displays as 15%. However, student course grades are computed using the weights selected on the EdgeEX Course Options page.

 Caution

Because EdgeEX Practice Assessments are reported on the progress report in the Assignments category and they are scored but not weighted, if a student has only taken Practice Assessment assignments, the Score section of the progress report may display as 0%. The student has not earned a zero as a score in the category. Rather, as shown in the example below, a 0% placeholder score is shown.
